After been sensationally decimate by India in the final two sessions of the Lords test. England is gripping with injury issues and batting carnage. The head coach Chris Silverwood already has a lot on his plate to resurrect a faltering unit.
Silverwood has indicated that the medical team is working with Mark Wood. Who suffered a shoulder injury while trying to stop a ball from going for a 4 and cane back on the 5th day to bowl fast inspite of his injury. Which has now aggravated as a result. Silverwood has indicated that Wood will not be rush into the next test and time will be given for his shoulder to heal.

With Wood’s injury, the England bowling stocks are looking currently depleted with Woakes, Broad, Archer and Olly Stone on the injury list.

Ben Stokes to come out of his self imposed indefinite break in the remainder of the series to revive England’s flagging fortunes. He said Stokes will be allow all the time he needs to come out of the mental fatigue. As a result of continuous bio bubble life in the last one year.

Silverwood has indicated a return to Test cricket for both Dawid Malan and James Vince . Both batsmen are currently playing in shorter formats . They both had occasional success in test cricket in the 2017-18 Ashes with Malan scoring his only test ton at Perth and Vince had several good starts with a top score of 83.
