Dwlhi Capitals coach and Australian legend , Ricky Ponting  admitted that KKR outplayed Delhi Capitals for major part of the qualifiers game to reach the finals .

However Ponting maintained the his team had a great season and even in the matches they lost they have competed on equal levels except in the last game in which they were outplayed .

Being impressed by his team’s performance Ponting said that he will try as much as possible to get the core group back at the mega auctions before the season 2022 .

“We’re just disappointed that this season has finished the way that it has. But yeah, so obviously we know that we will probably only be able to retain maybe three or four players.   So, a lot of players will go back into the auction, and then I’ll be doing everything I can certainly to bring as many people back into the Delhi Capitals family as possible, because as I said, it’s been incredibly enjoyable, for the last three seasons, really for me.  To bring everyone or most of the guys back together again, will be certainly a goal of mine,”    Ponting said

In the qualifiers match against KKR, Ponting felt lack of enough runs in the powerplay was the difference
“Yeah. Look, I think the power-plays in both innings was probably the difference in the game. I don’t think we got enough in our power play with the bat. I think we were 37 at the end of our power-play, which was probably, you know, eight to 10 runs short of where we wanted to be,”    Ponting said

Ponting  was extremely impressed with the KKR opener Venkatesh Iyer .  He said that Iyer is a terrific player for the Kolkata Knight Riders and maybe for India in the future .

Later Ponting has also shared an emotional message to all the Delhi Capital fans, thanking them for the support in his tweeter handle as under
