WI v SA T20I: South Africa squares series 1-1
South Africa fought back well in the T20I series by beating the strong West Indies by 16 runs. After putting up 166/6 on the board the Proteas restricted the much-vaunted West Indies batting lineup to 150/9 to win by 16 runs. WI v SA T20I: South Africa squares series 1-1.
Batting first South Africa started well due to stroke-filled batting by the top 3 Hendricks (42), De Kock (26) & Bavuma (46). They reached 122/2 around 13 overs but fine bowling by leftarmer Obed McCoy (3/25) restricted the Proteas to 166/6 in 20 overs and thus they were not able to take full advantage of the slog overs.
In reply, West Indies started well with Fletcher (35) and Lewis (21). However, a poor middle-order slump reduced them to 5/70 with none of their top players Gayle, Pooran, Russell and Pollard reaching double figures. Towards the end, Fabian Allen tried valiantly but his 34 off 12 balls was not enough to win the match and West Indies lost by 16 runs.
For the Proteas Rabada(3/37) and George Linde (2/19) were outstanding in their 4 overs with adequate support from the others.
