The 2nd game of the day in the Super 13 saw a total batting debacle by the reigning champions, the West Indies .  Send it to bat , the Carribeans resorted to some of the most senseless hitting witnessed in such a high profile competition. Right from the word go , none of their well hyped batting lineup  showed the willingness to grind out a partnership when wickets are falling . It was utterly disgraceful batting at its worst .

The openers Simmons (3) and Lewis (6) batted as if everything needs to be belted out of the park and the trend continued with Heytmer (9) , Bravo (5) and Gayle (13) who was the only one to reach double figures . Pooran(1) looked so listless that it was a matter of time for Tymal Mills to quickly get his second  wicket on his England comeback . Russell(0) does not have any idea to play leg spin which Adil Rashid again found out to his delight as a straight ball was missed . Pollard ‘s (6) stay for 14 balls gave a glimmer of hope but was foxed by Rashid and the rest just fell apart for West Indies to get humiliated for just 55 allout in just 14.2 overs .

For England the spinners Moeen Ali (2/17 in 4 overs ) was outstanding and Adil Rashid (4/2) had sensational figures . Tymal Mills (2/17) made a brilliant return and others just enjoyed the evening .

In reply ,the England openers Roy (11) and Buttler had a fluent start before England lost 4 wickets for 18 runs in a sudden collapse with Roy playing a slower ball from Rampaul to Gayle at midwicket , Bairstow (9) caught and bowled by Akeal Hosein being foxed by the variation of pace  , Moeen (3) getting out in a tight runout and Livingstone (1) foxed by the variation of pace and caught by a diving Akeal Hosein to his left. However Buttler (24*) and Morgan (7*) saw through the simple chase without further loss .

England management though will be happy with this win , will be dissappointed at the way the middle order collapsed in such a small chase . As for the West Indies , they have to come out of this debacle quickly if they want to seriously defend their title .

West Indies  55 ( Moeen 2/17, Mills 2/17 , Rashid   4/2)
England   56/4 ( Buttler 24*)
Man of the Match :  Moeen Ali
