West Indies 2/2 after knocking off Pakistan for 217 in 1st test
West Indies and Pakistan are involved in a 2 test series as a part of the WTC and on the very eventful first day. Pakistan was bowled out for 217 after being sent in to bat by the home team.
The West Indies fast bowlers used the conditions well and seaming the ball around made the tourists struggle right through their innings. Azhar Ali (17) and Babar Azam (30) were threatening to build a long stand but they could not stay on. Rizwan (23) looked in crisp touch but his promising innings was short-lived. Fawad Alam (56) and Faheem Ashraf (44) had the best partnership of the innings of 85 runs. After which from 186/5 there was a big collapse by Pakistan. They lost the last 5 wickets for 31 runs with Jason Holder (3/26) creating inroads. Jayden Seales (3/70) and Roach (2/47) bowled well too to finally restrict Pakistan to 217. In reply, Mohammed Abbas knocked over Powell and Bonner to leave West Indies struggling at 2/2 in an eventful first day .
