New Delhi: West Delhi Cricket Academy entered the pre-quarter-finals of the 31st All India Hitkary Om Nath Sood Memorial Cricket Tournament being played at the Rashtriya Swabhiman Khel Parisar ground. West Delhi Cricket Academy registered a big victory over Sonnet Cricket Club by 154 runs. In a stunning victory of West Delhi Cricket Academy, Rajesh Sharma (84 runs and 4/26) played a brilliant all-round game and Abhimanyu Easwaran (121-run) hit the century while Suraj Rathore (4/12) bowled brilliantly.

Chief guest MC Pandey (Northern Head, Everest Masala Company) conferred the Kuber Man of the Match award to Rajesh Sharma. Special guest Deepak Joshi presented the Parky Consolation prize to Abhimanyu Easwaran and Suraj Rathore.

After being invited to bat first, West Delhi lost the wicket of skipper Pradeep Malik Nav Parabeja on the first ball of the match. After this jolt, Abhimanyu Easwaran made partnerships duruing his inning of 121 runs in 112 balls with 11 fours. He made partnership of 120 runs for the second wicket with Akshay Saini (45 runs). After this, Abhimanyu and Rajesh Sharma added 137 runs for the third wicket. Rajesh Sharma scored 84 runs off 57 balls by hitting 2 sixes and 9 fours. Naman Tiwari and Mayank Yadav took two wickets each.

In reply to the target of 279 runs, Sonnet’s team was piled up for just 124 runs in 29.1 overs in front of the deadly bowling of Rajesh Sharma and Suraj Rathore. Rajesh took four wickets for 26 runs and Suraj got four wickets at the cost of 12 runs. Shubham Sharma was the top scorer with 28 runs for Sonnet, while Ayush Badoni scored 24 and Naman Tiwari scored 23 runs.
