In February, Pakistan’s young fast bowler Muhammad Hasnain’s bowling action was found to be illegal. He had to be banned after failing the test. The umpires complained about his actions during the Big Bash in January. He was failing the ICC-supervised review test. After about 5 months in June, his action got the green signal. Now once again his action has come under question. He is currently playing for Oval Invincibles in England’s The Hundred League.
Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has apparently accused Mohammad Hasnain of chucking. Hasnain dismissed Stoinis playing for Southern Braves. He tried to pull the 61st ball of the innings. The ball didn’t come right on his bat and he was caught by Will Jacks at mid off. While returning to the pavilion after being dismissed, Stoinis was gesturing that the bowler has chucked .
After this accusation of Marcus Stoinis, displeasure is being seen in Pakistan. From sports journalists to cricket fans have started to criticise Stoinis’ action. ( few tweets below ) . They said Stoinis has done this because of failure to tackle Hasnain’s speed. The match referee spoke to Marcus Stoinis after the match. However, no action has been announced against them.
Southern Brave scored 137 runs batting first in this match. Stoinis played the biggest innings. Hasnain took one wicket for 27 runs off 15 balls. Oval took the match with 18 balls to spare. Opener Will Jacks scored an unbeaten 108 off 48 balls. His innings included 10 fours and 8 sixes.
Meanwhile, noted sports journalist Nic Savage has indicated that Stoinis could face disciplinary charges for his actions.
