Former Indian cricketer and cricket expert Wasim Jaffer has revealed his pick for Team India’s wicketkeeper-batsman for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Wasim Jaffer said that his first choice would be KL Rahul and then Rishabh Pant. He also noted that Rishabh Pant is not going good with his form in the ongoing IPL 2022. However, Jaffer marked that he has those match-winning abilities and this keeps him as the main choice of wicketkeeper for the T20 world cup.
Jaffer picked Dinesh Karthik as the third option for this upcoming mega event. As we know in IPL 2022, Dinesh Karthik has been in terrific form for his team Royal Challengers Banglore. He is showing great fitness and finishing abilities for RCB.
“My first-choice wicket-keeper will be KL Rahul if the team goes ahead with only one wicket-keeper. The second one will be Rishabh Pant, who can’t be dropped as he can be the future captain of the Indian team. Although, he has not been in good form this IPL, but has won many matches for the team. The third one will be Dinesh Karthik. It will be a toss-up between Pant and Karthik. I think age is just a number, and he has good fitness, and you cannot rule out Karthik with this kind of form,” said Jaffer on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.
