Washington Sundar likely to miss phase 2 of IPL 2021

In another not so good news for both Team India & RCB , Washington Sundar, who played in  India’s tour game and due to shortage of players ,represented the county XI vs India,  has fractured his finger while facing Mohammed Siraj and was immediately out of the India vs England series.  He has been advised at least one month’s rest after which he can start his rehabilitation . He also may be needed to go for a surgery after the T20I World Cup. To avoid any extended effect on his career. Due to this reason he may have to be rested from the IPL  which is a big blow to his franchisee the Royal Challengers of Bangalore.

If Sundar is out of the IPL 2021, RCB may need to play Bengal’s Shahbaz Ahmed in all the matches. Shahbaz is a very useful slow left arm bowler and a capable batsman in the lower order who is capable of hitting hefty strokes if required. Washington Sundar likely to miss phase 2 of IPL 2021

Sundar had a mixed IPL 2021 so far scoring 31 runs and taking 6 wickets. But his ability to bowl economically in the powerplays and his knack of taking wickets will be missed by RCB.
