Shikhar Dhawan played a polished innings of 98 off 106 balls after being overlooked for much of the T20I series . His innings and his 105 run stand with skipper Virat Kohli provided a strong foundation on which Rahul and Krunal build on to take India to a big score .
Kohli was all praise for Dhawan’s knock stating that the southpaw batted at the most toughest phase of the innings. He also revealed that during their stand he told Dhawan that he will take in the bowling so that Dhawan stays longer
“Special mention to Shikhar’s innings as well. KL as well, back among the runs. Want to back the people who we know will go out and do a selfless job. For every spot, we have two-three players available. Great signs for Indian cricket. Right now, we are on the right path and have a big pool of players to choose from,” said Kohli
