When a fast bowler sees the wicket flying on his ball like this, he gets double happiness and the same must be happening with Umesh Yadav at this time.  Umesh Yadav took his 100th Test wicket by uprooting the wicket of Mitchell Starc.  After this, he took another wicket in Australia’s first innings in the Indore Test and thus took a total of 3 wickets in his name, after which his number of wickets increased to 101.

Umesh Yadav is the only one among the 5 fast bowlers who have taken 100 wickets on Indian soil, who have done this feat at an average of less than 25.  His bowling average has been 24.5 during this period.

However, after crossing the mark of 100 Test wickets in India, now Umesh will be eyeing to climb further in this list.  In this case, he is just 3 wickets away from the 104 wickets of Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan, who are at number three, while Javagal Srinath, who is at number two, is 7 steps away from 108 wickets.  Means Umesh has a good chance of reaching the second position in the current series.  In this case Kapil Dev is on top with 219 wickets.
