Venues for India women matches in Australia changed due to covid restrictions

The 22 member Indian women squad have reached Australia to start their month-long tour which included 3 ODIs , 1 pink ball tests and 3 T20Is.  They will be undergoing 14 day hard quarantine before starting preparation .
However, news coming from down under states that all the venues of India’s matches are shift in view of the massive covid restrictions in parts of Australia. 

As per the initial schedule, all 6 white ball games were suppose to be played at 2 venues in Sydney in New South Wales and the one-off pink ball test at Perth.

However, due to stringent covid restrictions especially in New South Wales, all the matches are moved to Queensland which is  official now

In the new schedule, the tour is starting from 21st September for the ODIs.  This will follow the pink ball test in the original dates (30 September to 3 October ). It will now be play at the Metricon Stadium in Carrara in the Gold Coast. The same venue will host the tour-ending three-match T20I-series, which was originally slot for Sydney.
Indian test and ODI team is being led by Mithali Raj whereas Harmanpreet leads the T20I team. 

After a decent  England tour this year the Indian women team is embarking on a much tougher tour of Australia where they will be playing their 1st ever pink ball test.  

India had drawn their one-off test vs England. But went on to lose the 3 match ODIs and 3 match T20I by 2-1 margins.

In 2020 March India and Australia competed in the finals of the World T20I. At MCG which was attend by 86000 spectators.

After the above T20I game , this is the first time that India is touring Australia.

21 September: Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay (Day)

24 September: Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay (Day-Night)

26 September: Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay (Day)

Test :

30 September 30 – 3 October: Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast (Day-Night)


7 October: Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast (Night)

9 October: Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast (Night)

10 October: Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast (Night)
