Under 19 Asia Cup : India completes hattrick of wins by beating Sri Lanka in final

ndia has hoisted the tricolor of victory in the Under-19 Asia Cup being played in UAE.  Team India won the Under-19 Asia Cup under the captaincy of Yash Dhul.  They defeated Sri Lanka by 9 wickets in the final played at Dubai

International Stadium.  Batting first, Sri Lanka scored only 106 runs in 38 overs in the rain-affected match.  In response, Team India achieved the target by losing just one wicket.  According to the Duckworth-Lewis rule, the Indian team got the target of 102 runs in 38 overs, which they achieved on the basis of the excellent batting of Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sheikh Rashid.  India had lost the wicket of opener Harnoor Singh for just 8 runs but after this Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 56 not out and Sheikh Rashid scored 31 not out to give victory to the team.  There was an strong partnership of 96 runs for the second wicket between the two.

 The hero of the victory of the Indian team were its bowlers.  Especially left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal and off-spinner Kaushal Tambe did not let the Sri Lankan batsmen any respite.  Vicky Ostwal took 3 wickets for just 11 runs in 8 overs.  He bowled 3 over maidens.  Kaushal Tambe also took 2 wickets for 23 runs in 6 overs.  Rajyavardhan, Ravi Kumar and Raj Bawa took 1 wicket each.


 The Indian team continues to dominate the Under-19 Asia Cup.  Team India won the Asia Cup for the 8th time.  India first won this tournament in 1989.  After this, in 2003, they again became the champion.  India shared the trophy with Pakistan in 2012.  After this, in 2013, 2016 also India won this tournament.  Afghanistan became champion in 2017.  Now Team India has taken a hat-trick of victory by becoming the Asia Cup champion in 2018, 2019 and now 2021.


 India’s Journey in Under-19 Asia Cup

 India played 5 matches in the tournament and lost only one.  India defeated the hosts UAE by 154 runs in the first match.  After this, India had to face defeat by 2 wickets against Pakistan.  Team India made a good comeback after this and defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets.  In the semi-final, they defeated Bangladesh by 103 runs in a one-sided fashion and finally in the final, he defeated Sri Lanka by 9 wickets to win the Asia Cup trophy for the 8th time.
