UAE suspension of flights from India till 6 July dents IPL 2021 preparations

Phase 2 of the IPL 2021 is to be held in UAE from coming September. In order to initiate preparations officials from BCCI and some franchisees were intending to visit UAE in early July.

However, it is understood that UAE has extended the tenure of suspensions of all flights from India till July 6. Therefore all travelers from India barring the UAE nationals. Visa holders cannot take any flights to the UAE as per the new stipulations.

UAE suspension of flights from India till 6 July dents IPL 2021 preparations. Following the outbreak of covid 2nd wave. The UAE flight authorities had earlier banned all flights from India from 25 April. Later the suspension was extended till 30 June before finally it is extended further till 6 July.

Few franchises officials have already expressed their disappointment. As they were supposed to go to UAE to finalise hotel arrangements and other logistics for their team in early July. However, now they have to postpone their plans and hope that the suspension of flights does not get extended further.
