After a gruelling two months , the IPL2023 has come to a close with CSK winning the title for the 5th time by beating a formidable Gujarat Titans by Duckworth Lewis method in an epic final .
We have come across many outstanding performances with the bat and the ball in this IPL edition . Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill with 890 runs was not only the highest run getter in this season but he also become the best player of this year in IPL. RCB captain Faf Duplessis came up with highly consistent and high octane performances scoring 730 runs in this IPL and was the Orange cap holder on a continuous basis in the league stage . Faf was complemented by his opening partner Virat Kohli who amassed 639 runs including two outstanding 100s in must win games this season was in great form after a disappointing 2022 season . Rajasthan Royals uncapped lefthanded opener , Yashasvi Jaiswal with 625 runs at 160 plus strike rate was the best emerging player this season while the CSK openers Devon Conway (672 runs ) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (590 runs) were in outstanding form this season .

In bowling it was the Gujarat Titans domination with Mohammed Shami (28 wickets) , Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan( both 27 wickets ) clinching the top 3 spots . Spinners Yazuvendra Chahal (21 wkts), Piyush Chawla (22 wkts), Varun Chakravarty (20 wkts) dominated the wicket taking columns for the slow bowlers . Tushar Deshpande (21 wkts) , Mohammed Siraj (19 wkts) and Matheesha Pathirana (19 wkts) were very impressive though Deshpande was a bit expensive .
