One of the highly educated cricketers who played very briefly for India was fast bowler Aavishkar Salvi.
Aavishkar was a fast bowler hailing from Mumbai who had completed his Ph.D. in Astrophysics. The brilliant student looked to be one of the bright Indian bowling prospects in the late 2000s. With a bowling action identical to Glenn McGrath. Aavishkar played 4 ODIs for India getting 4 wickets with his best of 2/15. He played alongside McGrath for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2009. This highest educated Indian cricketer could have played more for India.
However somehow due to injuries he faded away from the scene and could not build on a promising fast-bowling career , ending with 169 wickets in first class cricket .
