IPL 2023 is starting at the end of March.  The BCCI has released the complete schedule of the league matches, while the schedule of the playoffs and finals will be released later.  This time star bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will not be part of the tournament due to injuries.  However, bowlers like Ashwin and Chahal, who are among the most successful players in this tournament, will be seen in action.  Here we are talking about the most successful bowlers in IPL history.


 Dwayne Bravo
 West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has taken the most wickets in IPL.  Bravo has taken 183 wickets in 161 matches.  During this time he has taken three or more wickets in 16 innings.  However, Bravo has now retired from the IPL and is part of the coaching staff of Chennai Super Kings.  In his IPL career he was also a part of Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions team apart from Chennai.

 Lasith Malinga
 Lasith Malinga was the most successful and dangerous bowler in the league for the first few seasons of the IPL.  Malinga performed brilliantly for Mumbai Indians and also contributed significantly in making this team the champion.  Malinga has taken 170 wickets in 122 matches.  During this time he has taken five wickets in one match and three or more wickets in 18 matches.

 Amit Mishra
 Amit Mishra is also one of the most successful bowlers in IPL.  Although Amit Mishra has never been as dominant as Malinga, he has always been a wicket-taker.  Mishra has taken 166 wickets in 154 IPL matches.  He has also taken five wickets in one match and three or more wickets in 16 matches.

Yazuvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal is also included in the list of bowlers who have taken the most wickets in the IPL.  Chahal has taken 166 wickets in 131 matches.  He took five wickets in one match, while taking three or more wickets in 14 matches.  Chahal has been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians in the IPL.  However, he made a name for himself playing for Bangalore and made a place in the Indian team by performing brilliantly for the same team.

 Ravichandran Ashwin
 Ravichandran Ashwin is also one of the most successful players in IPL history.  Ashwin initially played for the Chennai team for several years, but later he parted ways with the team.  After this he has been a part of many different teams.  At present he plays for the Rajasthan team.  He has taken 157 wickets in 184 matches and has also played useful innings with the bat.

 Piyush Chawla
 Piyush Chawla is also one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history.  He has taken 157 wickets in 165 matches.  He has taken three or more wickets in a match 13 times.  Chawla is also adept at contributing with the bat on key occasions.  He has won many matches with his bat for Kolkata Knight Riders.

 Bhuvneshwar Kumar
 Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the most successful Indian fast bowler in IPL history.  He has taken 154 wickets in 146 matches.  Bhuvneshwar has so far played for Pune Warriors and Sunrisers Hyderabad.  Apart from taking wickets for Sunrisers, he has also done a good job of stopping runs.


Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine of West Indies is also among the most successful bowlers in IPL history.  Narine’s spin has been very difficult for the batsmen to understand.  In the first few seasons of the IPL, he took wickets fiercely, but later the batsmen started playing carefully against him.  Narine has taken 152 wickets in 148 matches.

 Harbhajan Singh
 Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan has also performed brilliantly in the IPL.  After playing for Mumbai Indians for a long time, Harbhajan has taken 150 wickets in 163 matches and has been a part of Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata.  He has been one of the key players in making Mumbai champions.

 Jasprit Bumrah

 Jasprit Bumrah has also joined the list of legends after playing 120 matches in IPL.  Bumrah has so far taken 145 wickets for Mumbai.  However, he will not play this season due to injury.  Bumrah is adept at taking wickets in the death overs and is known to give away runs sparingly.
