Tension between Sarfraz Ahmed and Shaheen Afridi during a PSL match
The PSL matches are going on in full swing in UAE, and they are not without incidents. Earlier we had Andre Russell and Faf Duplessis getting injured in varied circumstances. The latest incident is not related to any injuries but frayed tempers on the field of play.
In the match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators, former Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed who was playing for Quetta was facing Shaheen Afridi in the 19th over of his team’s innings. Afridi dug one short and quick which hit Sarfraz flush on the helmet as he tried to pull and the ball went behind the stumps for a single. As he was completing the run Sarfraz apparently told something to Afridi and gestured with his hands. However, Afridi did not take it kindly and advanced towards Sarfraz and trying to tell him something aggressively. Soon the Lahore captain Sohail Khan and senior player Mohammed Hafeez stepped in and diffused the situation cooling down both Sarfraz and Afridi.
