Team India rattled : Rishabh Pant & throwdown specialist are covid positive
There is big news coming through from the Indian squad in England that India’s first-choice wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant who was on a 3-week holiday break along with all the other members of the squad after the WTC final has tested positive for covid 1 week ago and is recovering in isolation.
It came to be known that the player develop a sore throat. Subsequent tests carried out revealed a covid positive test. Team India rattled : Rishabh Pant & throwdown specialist are covid positive.
Also the throwdown specialist of the team Dayanand has been test covid positive and as a result of that 3 team members Bharat Arun, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Wriddhiman Saha has gone into isolation for being in close contact with Dayanand .
This is a startling news as from early next month India and England will be playing in the 5 test series. The Indian team members are now all assembling at Durham for bio bubble protocols. Will subsequently play 2 practice games with county teams as a part of test series preparation.
It may be recall that after the WTC final, the Indian contingent was release from their bio bubble for a 3-week break and they are now going to join a fresh bio bubble as a part of preparations for the England test series.
During this break, many cricketers shared their holiday updates on social media. Pant shared pictures of watching the Euro 2020 matches with his friends at the Wembley stadium.
It has been notice in the various photos share by several players. That they were not using masks during their visits outdoors and Pant was also no exception.
Recently Jay Shah had sent an email to the team management in England. Asking the members of the contingent to exercise caution during the break and refrain from visiting crowded areas. However, Pant, Shastri and Ashwin were seen visiting the Euros and Wimbledon respectively.
Recently England had a big issue with 7 members of their original squad testing covid positive. Which forced the rest of the team to go into isolation. The ECB had to hurriedly create a makeshift squad to play the 3 match ODI series against touring Pakistan. Which has just been complete with a 3-0 win for England makeshift team.
