Team India is all set to face New Zealand in WTC final, working hard in Mumbai bio-bubble
World Test Championship is upon us and the competing teams India and New Zealand are all set to face each other in the much-awaited final match. ICC World Test Championship final will be held in The Rose Bowl Cricket Stadium in England on June 18, 2021. Journey to this final match was not easy at all. A total of 9 teams participated in the ICC World Test Championship and India and New Zealand proved to be the best beating all the other teams. Team India is all set to face New Zealand in WTC final, working hard in Mumbai bio-bubble.
India’s journey to WTC Final
India played bilateral Test series while competing in this tournament. Team India won 5 out of the 6 series which included 17 matches. India established its supremacy in 12 out of those 17 matches and lost 4, ending one in draw. During these matches India faced West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Australia and England.
This journey was sure not easy for the team but India led its way into the tournament with prowess and panache. India had started on this road with a loud bang of victory, defeating West Indies in the first two Test matches. The first match was won by 318 runs and the second by 257 runs. Bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma deserve the credit for these magnificent wins. On the other hand, batsmen like Hanuman Vihari pivotal role in making India prominent in moving it to the top spot in the ICC World Test Championship.
Team India hard at work
Team India has already started its preparation for a successful WTC final. The team is quarantined but this does not stop men in blue from following a tough fitness regimen. They are working hard to get in the best shape which has made BCCI proud. Board of Control for Cricket recently posted a video of our favourite cricketers sweating in the gym. Working on stamina and strength. The video showed Shubhman Gill, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma and other players hard at work.
Captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma along with coach Ravi Shastri have already joined the team in bio-bubble. This Tuesday and will accompany the teammates for these workout sessions. The team is getting ready for the big day in Mumbai but soon they will flying to England for the final event which is on June 18.
