Tamim Iqbal to miss T20I World cup 2021 for Bangladesh

Tamim Iqbal has withdrawn from the T20I World cup with is starting from October 17 at Oman before moving to UAE .

Bangladesh will be playing in the qualifying rounds of the event and have to do well there to move to the final phase.

Tamim, who has scored 1758 runs in 78 T20Is for Bangladesh at 24 a stage and 117 strike rate , had a knee injury during the test series vs Sri Lanka in April 2021 is recuperating . However the reason he has put forward is that , he did not play any T20I matches in between and also missed the Bangladesh v Australia series which proved to be very successful for Bangladesh as they won 4-1 .

Tamim said he did not want to replace a player in the current XI who has done well in recent months and deserves to play in the XI. Tamim Iqbal to miss T20I World cup 2021 for Bangladesh.

”As I did not play in the last 15 to 20 T20 matches, and whoever replaced me, I don’t think it would be fair on them if I take their place,” Tamim said in a video Facebook message .
