Sunrisers & Punjab Kings have announced their replacements for withdrawn English players
Jonny Bairstow & Dawid Malan has withdrawn from the IPL although the exact reason is not very clear. However, it is presumed that it is due to bio bubble fatigue and two big events coming for England i.e. T20I World cup & the Ashes.
Hence both the franchisees the Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have quickly announced their replacements.
Punjab Kings has roped in South African batting star Aiden Markram. Who looks in great form in recent times and has made runs across all formats. More importantly, his T20 game has also improved.
Markram’s batting was even liked by Virat Kohli when he tweeted about the South African a few years ago.
An orthodox strokeplayer, Markram has scored a match-winning 48 off 33 balls in South Africa’s latest T20 match vs Sri Lanka. He can also bowl off-spin as a change bowler and like all South Africans, a superb fielder.
Therefore Punjab has got an adequate replacement for Dawid Malan.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has replaced Jonny Bairstow with West Indies strokeplayer, Sherfane Rutherford ,who has earlier played for Delhi in few games . Rutherford is a dazzling stroke player who can destroy attacks and he bats in the middleorder . However Bairstow’s absence will be badly felt as he has been an x factor for Sunrisers over the years. Developed a great opening partnership with David Warner. Sunrisers & Punjab Kings have announced their replacements for withdrawn English players.
Fans from both the teams will keep their fingers crossed as they hope for good displays from the new overseas additions .
