Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Analysis
Sunrisers Hyderabad has been one of the most low profile teams in the IPL. They have a great management and have an aura of discipline about the team . With the shrewd Tom Moody back as their director of cricket to join hands with VVS Laxman and Muralitharan SRH are in great hands. They make very wise choices and their team is based on sound selections. The have an overseas captain who is a champion in T20 format and hence a certainty in the side.
SRH have always followed a settled formula of having an Indian pace attack and a good core of overseas batsmen and allrounders supported by Afghani flavour spin.
The batting looks solid with Warner, in form Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar and Jammu Kashmir all rounder big hitting Abdul Samad. They have two top class allrounders in Jason Holder, who was top fast bowling allrounder and Mitchel Marsh a powerful batting allrounder. The spin department is in full control of the great Rashid Khan and Mujeeb has now joined hands this year after being bought in auction. Plus they also have a fine spinning allrounder in Mohammed Nabi.
Bowling looks solid with Indian trio of Bhuvneswar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma and Natarajan which had a great last 6 months starting from IPL to international games. Also they have tall left armer Khalil Ahmed who can extract pace and bounce due to his height.
Great wicketkeeping stocks in Wriddhiman Saha, Sreevats Goswami and Bairstow.
Sunrisers will play most of their games in Chennai and Delhi where pitches will suit their bowling attack. Few games are scheduled in Kolkata and Bangaluru also.
The big question with Sunrisers is that they have some great overseas talent and which four they will use? Warner and Rashid are fixed in XI. The remaining two spots are up for grabs with Bairstow ( who can provide astonishing starts ), Williamson (who can add solidity in the middle order and bat through), Holder (a great bowling option along with lower order hitting), Mitch Marsh (superb batting allrounder) & Nabi spin allrounder) being the front runners Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Analysis.
Great overseas backups and strong backups in bowling and keeping. Good Indian backups as well with Kedar Jadav, Suchith, Shabaz Nadeem etc. Very disciplined and settled unit.
Middle order Indian batting a weak link. They will try to bank on Samad to provide big finishes and look at good contributions from Marsh and Holder whoever plays.
Lacks a bit of pace in their bowling resources.
Chances : Definitely one of the frontrunners for the title
