SLC has finally announce officially, that Dhanuskha Gunatillaka, Niroshan Dickwella and Kusal Mendis has been suspend for 1 year. With another year of suspended sentence for the gross breaching of the bio bubble during their ODI tour of England. The players were seen on the Durham streets after 10: 30 PM. 


The board has also imposed a fine of 10 million Srilanka Rupees. 


The ban of one year also includes a 6 months embargo of domestic cricket for the trio. 


This step will definitely dent Sri Lanka’s prospects in the coming T20I world cup.

The three charges that have been brought by the SLC are: 
“Putting in jeopardy the safety of players by breaching COVID-19 safety guidelines, including instructions of the team management. Also breaking the team curfew of being in their hotel rooms by 10:30 pm. Last but not the least was bringing disrepute to the country and cricket board.” Sri Lankan board suspends Gunatillaka Dickwella Kusal Mendis for 1 year.

In the absence of some senior players, the Sri Lankans did well vs India in the just concluded 6 match white-ball tour and has unearthed some promising talent that can go on to become future stars for SLC .
