Shubman Gill played a historic innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He became the Indian player to score the biggest innings in an international match of the shortest format of the game. He scored an unbeaten 126 in this innings facing 63 balls. On the basis of this innings, he broke Virat Kohli’s record of playing the biggest innings in T20 International. Kohli scored an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan during the Asia Cup 2022. Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are other Indian batsmen who have scored a century in T20 International before Shubman. Rohit has the most centuries for India in T20 International, who has scored 4 centuries. Surya has scored 3 centuries while KL Rahul has scored 2 centuries with the bat and the rest of the batsmen have scored 1 centuries each.
