Shaw, Surya, Jayant Yadav likely to join Indian test squad in England

Opener Prithvi Shaw, off-spin allrounder Jayant Yadav and middle-order batter Surya Kumar Yadav are likely to join the Indian squad in England as replacements to the injuries of Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and standby Avesh Khan.

Shaw was earlier request for the England series by the team management in England when Gill got injured. BCCI had rejected the request that time stating the presence of standby Abhimanyu Easwaran already in the squad. But now they are likely to send across Shaw.

With Rahane currently having injury concerns, Surya will go as a cover. Jayant Yadav is a like for like replacement of Washington Sundar who fractured his finger while facing Mohammed Siraj in the tour match. Shaw, Surya, Jayant Yadav likely to join Indian test squad in England.

With already 6 fast bowlers in the squad namely Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav. The team management feels that they have enough fast bowling stocks to choose the XI from. Hence contrary to expectations Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Deepak Chahar are most likely not be ask to go to England.
