Shardul’s childhood coach expects him to fill the allrounder’s role in Test cricket in Hardik’s absence
Dinesh Lad, one of the most famous coaches in the Mumbai cricket circuit under whose tutelage. Rohit Sharma grew as a cricketer, is upbeat about the chances of his another former trainee. Shardul Thakur filling in the role for the allrounders spot in Test XI.
Lad said that the Indian team lacks a fast bowling all-rounder after Hardik Pandya’s shoulder surgery. Has prevented him from bowling and he did not figure in the test team in the England series inspite of being in the squad.
Lad stated further that in Hardik’s absence, the Indian think tank can definitely groom Shardul Thakur. As the fast bowling all-rounder as he is the only fast bowling option who can bat really well.
Shardul has shown his capabilities in the epic Gabba test with a brilliant performance with both bat and ball. He batted like a senior pro scoring a neat 67 full of glorious strokeplay and went on to take 7 wickets in the match. Swinging the ball around.
Shardul’s childhood coach expects him to fill the allrounder’s role in Test cricket in Hardik’s absence. Lad said that Shardul’s batting has improved a lot and he is playing shots on the ground. He further added that as a bowler he can swing the ball really well and he always advised him to make the batsman play. As with his ability to swing the ball he is bound to create opportunities for wickets.
Lad further said that there is enough time for Shardul to adjust to the English conditions with the WTC test starting from 17 June and the England series in August.
It is indeed a good suggestion from Dinesh Lad as Shardul is a wicket-taking bowler who can play as a specialist and also can bat very well down the order. He is a bowling allrounder and his batting is bound to develop as he plays more international cricket. Shardul will offer much more with the ball than a fit Hardik Pandya and as a batsman. He is capable of reaching higher standards as his batting is based on sound technique.
