The first match of the 3-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Ireland was played today i.e. on 18 March.  Shakib Al Hasan’s brilliant all-round performance helped Bangladesh record their biggest win over Ireland by 183 runs.  Shakib scored 93 runs scoring his third consecutive half-century and then showed his brilliance in bowling as well.  He also completed 7000 runs during this period and also became the second Bangladeshi cricketer after Tamim Iqbal to touch this figure.

 Bangladesh cricket team’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has also become the third cricketer to score seven thousand runs and take 300 wickets.  Bangladesh had scored 338 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs while batting first, in which Shakib scored 93 runs with the help of 9 fours. Apart from this, Tauheed Hriday also played an innings of 92 runs in which 8 wickets were scored.  Fours and 2 skyscraper sixes were also included.

In response, Ireland’s batting was a complete flop.  They could not even play the full 50 overs and was all out for 155 runs in 30.5 overs.  At the same time, after the match, Tauheed Hriday was also awarded the title of Player of the Match for his amazing batting.

 Shakib Al Hasan and Tauheed shared a 135-run partnership for the fourth wicket in 125 balls.  Mushfiqur Rahim played a breezy  inning of 44 runs in 26 balls.  For Bangladesh, fast bowler Ibadat Hossain took four wickets for 45 runs, while Taskin Ahmed took two wickets and spinner Nasum Ahmed took three wickets.  The second match of the series will be played on Monday, March 20.
