The final match of the T20 World Cup will be played between Pakistan and England on Sunday (13 November). Both the teams will face off at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pakistan defeated New Zealand and England in the semi-finals to make their place in the title match. Before the match, Pakistan’s dangerous bowler Shaheen Afridi has challenged the English batsmen.
Afridi has said two days before the match that it will not be easy for the England batsmen to score runs against him. Afridi has made a comeback from injury. The first two matches were not good for him. Afridi gave 34 runs against India and 29 against Zimbabwe. After that he started getting criticized. People started questioning his fitness. Afridi again made a stellar comeback to silence the critics.
He took one wicket against Netherlands, three against South Africa, four against Bangladesh and two against New Zealand in next lot of games . Afridi created a sensation in the T20 World Cup by taking 10 wickets in the last four matches. His team was on the verge of exit at one time, but when the Netherlands defeated the African team, Pakistan got a life. They made it to the semi-finals by defeating Bangladesh and then defeated New Zealand to secure a place in the final.
Pakistan and England will face each other in Melbourne in the final of a World Cup after 30 years. The last time Pakistan won the World Cup in 1992 by defeating England under the captaincy of Imran Khan. The England team will land in Melbourne to avenge that defeat.
