Sanju Samson, The Rajasthan Royals captain as mentioned that he will be focussing more on the IPL rather than thinking about Team India selection.

Samson throughout his career had issues with his consistency and that also engulfs IPL and team India matches.
In the recent international matches in Sri Lanka, Samson started well with a sublime 46 in the 3rd ODI but followed up with a string of low scores and hence overlooked for Team India selection of T20I World cup.

Samson said that it’s important to go into a tournament with a clear mind and there will be no doubts about selection when IPL resumes but thinking of Team India selection while playing IPL  is the wrong mindset.

He said that there will always be discussions on team India selection which is a byproduct of playing IPL and if one performs one will get chances.

Sanju further said that since IPL is the most viewed tournament everyone gets noticed and people say good things and not so good things about players but he does not get affected by them now.

“Everyone is having that kind of pressure. And everyone goes through that kind of pressure, knowing that so many people are waiting outside anyway. That’s the reason behind Indian cricket’s success,”  Sanju added.

Rajasthan Royals are at the middle of the points table and cannot afford to have too many failures as they resume their campaign with the next match against Punjab Kings as the IPL 2021 restarts in a few days and Samson has to play a big role as a captain and batsman with Buttler and Stokes unavailable .
