Left-arm fast bowler Sam Curran, who played a key role in England’s victory in the final against Pakistan, was named the player of the tournament for the T20 World Cup 2022.  Curran, who returned after recovering from injury, was also adjudged man of the match in the final.  He took three wickets for 12 runs in four overs.  Curran took 13 wickets in the tournament and his economy rate was 6.52 runs per over.

 The ICC on Friday released a list of 9 such players who can become Player of the Tournament.  The names of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav were in this list from the Indian team.  At the same time, two players from Pakistan (Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi) were included in this list.  Apart from this, three of England (Sam Curran, Jos Buttler, Alex Hales), Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka got a place in this list.

 Sam Curran has become the youngest player to win the Player of the Tournament.  He broke the record of Virat Kohli, who won this award in 2014 at the age of 25.

 Karan said after the match, “The MCG has big square boundaries and I knew how to bowl them to hit the square area of ​​the wicket.  We felt that the wicket was not as good as we thought.

 “We are world champions and it is a great feeling.  Ben Stokes played an excellent inning.  All eyes are on him when the team needs him.  To be honest, I have no words to say.  It was a great tournament.  I was playing in the World Cup for the first time and we won it.”  Curran said
