SAF v WI 1st test: Nortje and Ngidi blow away West Indies for 97.
The South African fast bowlers showed their prowess against a meek-looking batting lineup of West indies as the pace of Nortje and the accuracy of Ngidi proved too much for the fragile West Indies batting lineup. The home side was route for 97 and South Africa ended the first day at 127/4 at Gros Islet.
Rabada and Nortje looked extremely hostile and too good for the West indies batsmen and it was Nortje who ripped open the Windies top order with brutal fast bowling, sending back Shai Hope to a great delivery, pitching in line and moving away to hit the top of off. Soon Braithwaite was bowl by a rapid break back. Bonner was squared up by Rabada’s away going ball and the carnage continue as Ngidi stepped in to wipe off the lower half with sustain hostility taking 5/19 bowling an excellent nagging line outside off. Nortje finished with 4/35 as West Indies folded up for 97 with Holder (20) providing token resistance. SAF v WI 1st test: Nortje and Ngidi blow away West Indies for 97.
