Rishabh Pant does shadow batting at non-strikers end as Anderson is running in to bowl
India ended the Leeds test on a dismal note on the 4th morning. After fighting with great grit and determination on the 3rd day. From a good position at 215/2, when all Indian fans were hoping for a grand fightback in the lines of the famous 2001 Eden test, the Indian batters flattered to deceive and were bundled out for 278, thus losing 8 for 63 in an absolute batting horror show.
Rishabh Pant on whom much is expected in this series has so far dissappointed. He is not trying to play himself in and choosing the wrong balls to hit. At Leeds on the 4th day, he had a bizarre stay at the crease. Finally got out after edging to slips for 1 after playing only 6 balls.
In that innings, Pant was also seen doing shadow practice. Even as Anderson was almost half way through his run up to deliver a ball to Rahane. Suddenly Pant realised that the bowler was about to bowl and quickly got himself in the crease. Rishabh Pant does shadow batting at non-strikers end as Anderson is running in to bowl.
It would have been a tough one for Pant , had Rahane got lbw to that ball and needed Pant’s advice to go for DRS.
Pant’s antics were shared on social media with the video of the incident and various comments from the fans on the tweeter.
