RCB opener Devdutt Paddikal tests positive
While BCCI is keeping options open by setting up Hyderabad and Indore as contingency venues, covid dents further into preparations for IPL 2021 as Devdutt Paddikal, the RCB opening batsman has tested positive and is under quarantine & isolation .
This means that the opener is in serious doubt for the RCB opening match against Mumbai Indians which kicks off the IPL on 9th of April .
Paddikal was one of the success stories of RCB’s campaign in IPL 2020. He further scored truckloads of runs in the domestic Vijay Hazare trophy in 50 overs format. Therefore his probable initial absence will hurt RCB as they try another shot at the elusive IPL title .
