Ravindra Jadeja has been selected in the Indian team for the first 2 matches of the 4 Test series against Australia starting next month. But, he will enter this series only when he proves himself match fit. In such a situation, Jadeja is playing the last league match of Ranji Trophy to gain match fitness. Jadeja is captaining Saurashtra in the match being played in Chennai against Tamil Nadu. This is Jadeja’s first match after recovering from a knee injury. However, the kind of comeback he or Team India was expecting. Jadeja has not been able to perform like that till now.

In this match being played between Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra, the host team had batted first and scored 324 runs in the first innings. In response, Saurashtra’s team got all out for 192 runs in the first innings. Jadeja could not show anything special with the ball in the first innings. He bowled 24 overs and managed to get only 1 wicket. In such a situation, it was expected that he would make up for it in batting. But, Jadeja’s game ended in 23 balls. He got out after scoring 15 runs. He scored 3 fours. He became LBW on the ball of Baba Aparajit.

For Jadeja, this match is not only important in terms of gaining fitness. Rather, this competition is also necessary to get into the rhythm. He had a chance to return to the old color in bowling and batting in this match. But, in the first test i.e. in the first innings, Jadeja failed on both the fronts. Now if he gets a chance to bat in the second innings, Jadeja will have to try to perform better.
