Ravi Shastri suddenly stopped while describing relationship between Kohli & Rohit

Ravi Shastri had a 30-minute interview with Time now senior editor Navika Kumar recently just before the start of the ongoing Oval Test. In that interview, he was asked about a variety of subjects like his recently released book on his contemporaries, his love – hate relationship with BCCI head Sourav Ganguly ( already covered earlier by cricnews24 ), his vision etc.

Amongst many things, Navika asked Shastri about the equation between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as there were reports a couple of years ago about alleged rift between the two.

Ravi replied after a millisecond of hesitation that he is not at all aware of any such rift. And since he is in close proximity with the team he can vouch for that there is absolutely no rift whatsoever.  He further said, that if there had been any such rift he would have been straight on their face and told them that boss, this is not on and you need to look at things differently. Ravi Shastri suddenly stopped while describing relationship between Kohli & Rohit.

“I never saw it. So when people used to ask me like this, I say what you have seen I have not seen. Hamesha taalmel acha hai (the co-ordination has always been there). I have never seen it affecting the team. If I see an effect in the team, I will say on Virat or Rohit’s face that this is not on and you have to look at things differently. But not once have I seen it impacting the team from day 1. I am a person who says what I want,”   Shastri  said .

Shastri also mentioned that both players( Kohli & Rohit)  as well as the vice-captain of the test team Ajinkya Rahane thought positively for the betterment of the team.  Team India doing well was always at the top of their  agenda.
