The Indian coaching staff of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar are likely to return to India via Dubai on 15 September provided their final RC-PCR tests return negative at Manchester. The trio is serving quarantine in the UK and is waiting for their final covid result to be favourable.
It may be recalled that Ravi Shastri was isolated during the Oval test due to covid positive results and soon he was followed by his coaching colleagues R Sridhar and Bharat Arun. The head physio Nitin Patel had to isolate himself for being in close contact with Shastri and group.
Further, when the junior physio Yogesh Parmar, who was in close contact with several players got covid affected just before the Manchester test, the worried Indian players refused to take the field in the 5th test which had to be subsequently cancelled leaving the series incomplete with the fate to be decided by the ICC. India was already leading 2-1 in the series before the final test .
Shastri and the coaching staff will again be going into a fresh bio bubble before the T20 world cup post the IPL.
