Ravi Ashwin unlike many of his Indian team colleagues decided to play a county match. To have some vital game time ahead of the England test series next month. After spending few days on a holiday including a visit to Wimbledon last week. Ashwin took a sensible decision to utilize his free time by turning up in a county game to warm up adequately before England series.
A lesson for some of our faltering batsmen in England?
Playing for Surrey against Somerset, Ashwin took 1/99 in 43 overs in the first innings as the opposition piled on 429. Surrey replied with 240 and in the 2nd innings Somerset batters were bamboozled by the skilful off-spin bowling. Ashwin who nearly looked unplayable while taking 6/27.
