Pakistan registered a proud series win over South Africa after winning the 3rd ODI by 28 runs at Centurion. Fakkar Zaman once again showed his maturity and quality of strokeplay scoring a fine century while Babar showed his quality with another fine innings. The bowlers kept taking wickets as South Africa made a bold effort to chase down a big target.
South Africa won the toss and bowled. They were without some of their top stars who were released for IPL after 2nd ODI as Rabada , Nortje , David Miller and D Kock were missing in the lineup. Van Dussen had to be rested to to injury .
Pakitan openers started superbly particularly Imam ul Haq (57) who played delightful shots before getting out against run of play after adding 112 with Fakkar in 21 overs .
Fakkar and Babar were next involved in a 96 run stand as the former started to unleash his shots all round the ground . Fakkar showed great skills and temperament using his intelligence to pamper the shorter size of the ground with his pulled sixes and many of his crisp shots getting his 2nd successive hundred after that memorable one in previous one. After he left fir 101 off 104 balls, Pakistan had a mini collapse losing 5 wickets for 41 runs after 206/1.

However Babar Azam (94 notout off 82 balls ) shifted gears in final few overs post a brilliant innings full of dazzling strokes all round the ground and Hassan Ali clobbered 4 sixes in his blistering 32 off 11 balls to take Pakistan to an imposing 320/6 after once it looked that South African bowlers had made significant inroads by the 45th over.
For the South Africans, the spinners Maharaj (3/45) and Markram (3/48) were the peak of the bowlers but the rest got hammered mercilessly.
In reply , the Proteas lost wickets at regular intervals inspite of maintaining a decent run rate. Janneman Malan (70 off 81 balls) looked in ominous touch but was losing partners as the Pakistan spinners Nawaz and Qadir made significant inroads to reduce South Africa to 140/5 by 27 overs .
However a belligerent 108 run stand between Kyle Verreynne (62) and Phehlukwayo (54) brought South Africa right back in the game at 248/5 around the 43rd over and now 73 runs were needed in 7 overs .
It was here that thave dangerous Verreynne got out , which helped the Pakistani pacers to make sharp inroads and restricting the run flow and held back the Proteas to 292 leading them 28 runs short .
For Pakistan Mohammed Nawaz (3/34) , Shaheen Afridi (3/58) and Haris Rauf (2/45) were the star bowlers.
Babar Azam for his 94 was the man of the match and Fakkar Zaman for his outstanding batting in the series was the man of the series. He scored 302 runs at 101 average .
Pakistan thus winning the ODI series 2-1
