Our main aim is to complete the IPL: Rajiv Shukla
The BCCI Vice President Mr Rajiv Shukla has already reached Dubai to finalise the dates. All other aspects relating to phase 2 of the IPL 2021. The tournament is bound to go through hurdles with respect to foreign players participation as most top cricket nations will be involved in international matches on or around September.
However, Mr Shukla stated that their main objective is to complete. The IPL 2021 at all costs as the event cannot be left incomplete midway. He said that the event will go on even if many foreign players may not be available due to international commitments and the franchisees will be allowed replacements. Our main aim is to complete the IPL: Rajiv Shukla.
Shukla also stated that the BCCI office-bearers Sourav Ganguly, Jay Shah and Brijesh Patel ( IPL chairman) will be visiting Dubai to work on other modalities which include fixing up the schedules. He said that BCCI will be in direct contact with the UAE board to work out other details. The board will abide by all the rules of the UAE government relating to vaccination. Bio bubbles and other covid protocols etc. He also added that the board will speak n allowing spectators in stadiums but will abide by the UAE government directive.
Mr Shukla hopes that like last year. The remaining part of the current edition of the IPL will be held smoothly.
