Ollie Robinson shares his plans for his success against Williamson
England played 4 quicks against New Zealand in the ongoing Lords test and the 4th one, the test debutant Ollie Robinson had the biggest impact on the test.
In the first innings, he took 4 wickets after which he contributed a match rescuing 42 in a long partnership with centurion Rory Burns to drag England out of a potential danger of conceding a big first-innings lead. Not yet finished he took both wickets to fall for New Zealand in the second innings. Including the prized scalp of Kane Williamson and it was this dismissal that he was raving about.
Ollie Robinson shares his plans for his success against Williamson. In his interaction with the Daily mail, Robinson said that he was preparing hard for the New Zealand top four. With a special focus obviously on their batting superstar Kane Williamson.
Robinson added that what he felt could be a good plan against the prolific New Zealand captain is to bowl outswingers to him to set him up getting him to come across and then slip in the inswinger using the crease to trap him lbw. And if that does not work then plans B and C are in place.
It is not sure whether anyone in the Indian think tank or any of their fast bowling group has seen Robinson’s remarks. As Indian bowlers will come across against the New Zealand captain in the WTC final and proper plans need to be in place to snub Williamson’s threat.
