Multan Sultans canter to a comfortable win in the PSL6 final
The PSL6, the popular franchise event in Pakistan was finally completed in Dubai after it was suspended abruptly in Pakistan in March 2021 due to covid spread and bio bubble breaches.
The remaining matches were play at UAE and finally, the Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi in a high scoring final at Dubai. Multan Sultans canter to a comfortable win in the PSL6 final.
Batting first, Multan Sultans were off to a great start through Shan Masood (37). Fast-improving wicketkeeper Mohammed Rizwan (30) who added 68 for the first wicket. That paved the way for Sohaib Maqsood and Rilee Rossouw to put on an explosive 98 run stand in just 44 balls. Maqsood’s elegant 65 was complement by Rossouw’s belligerent 50. Their brilliant stand helped Multan to reach an imposing 206/4 in 20 overs.
In reply, Peshawar did make a bold effort to chase the total with veteran Kamran Akmal hitting an aggressive 36. Shoaib Malik a rapid 48 off 28 balls. However disciplined bowling by Imran Tahir (3-33),Zimbabwean Blessing Muzarabani (2-26) and Imran Khan (2-27). Ensured that Multan finally won by 47 runs in deserving fashion to take the title.
