Indian cricket started to reach new heights at the start of this century after the dark match fixing years of the late nineties. Series awards outside Asia by Indian cricketers in ODIs.
Sourav Ganguly’s team victory in the 2001 Test series against the all-conquering Australia, started a great period of Indian cricket from which they only occasionally had slipped into mediocrity. That epic win also raised the levels of performances in ODI cricket with India becoming a major power in the ODI format once again since their highs of the mid-1980s.
The dominance of India can be somewhat gauged from the number of man of the man & man of the series awards the Indians won outside Asia in various bilateral and ICC tournaments.

It may be mentioned that Ravi Shastri in the only cricketer in the above list from 1980s vintage when India became a great force in ODIs after their World cup win in 1983 .
With India continuing as an ODI superpower , the list will go on increasing in coming years .
