The 1st ODI turned out to be a tough one for England in more ways than one. Not only the World champions lost a match which they had firmly under control at 135/0 in 14 overs chasing 318, but they had two significant injuries which can further affect their chances in this mini series.

Eoin Morgan has split his webbings on his right hand than required four stitches . He subsequently batted in the 2nd innings and made 22.

The more serious injury happened to Sam Billings who may have damaged his collarbone while diving near the boundary to stop a 4 . He too batted scoring 18 runs as England collapsed spectacularly from a strong position  to lose by 66 runs .

Morgan while speaking on injuries was  non committal before 48 hours .  The next ODI will be played on 26th March which may see a couple of replacements should Morgan and Billings are not 100% fit by then.
