More covid positive cases hits IPL
As the IPL teams have started practicing in full intensity while in bio bubbles , teams are getting hit with more covid positive cases with Mumbai Indians wicketkeeping consultant and talent scout Kiran More and RCB fast bowler Daniel Sams being latest casualties.
With covid figures in India scaling an all time high with 1.15 lacs plus cases as on April 6th, Mumbai Indians were dealt a severe jolt as their wicketkeeping consultant and former Indian wicketkeeper, Kiran More has got infected days after being in bio bubble. He was also involved in practice before getting infected.
More’s news has send shivers amongst the Mumbai Indian contingent as the franchisee has made extra arrangements for ruthless testing over and above the tournament bio bubble requirements. Kiran More has since gone into 10 days isolation.
On the other hand, RCB fast bowler Daniel Sams who was covid negative when he joined the team, was reported covid positive on latest testing while on mandatory quarantine. He also goes into isolation and will be unavailable for selection in initial games .
Thus with covid cases getting rampant and more complicated by the day, IPL authorities are keeping their fingers crossed for a smooth function of the 2021 IPL season.
