Mayhem at St Kitts ground as the home team win first CPL title : Video watch

The CPL 2021 came to a sensational end after a gripping contest that went down to the wire , Saint Lucia Kings after putting on a competitive 159/7 had their bowlers performing well for a major part of the Nevis Patriots innings as wickets were falling at regular intervals. With just around 5 overs to go the home side was 95/5 with 65 to get.

However, from nowhere, left-hander Dominic Drakes came out and played a blinder. His partnership with Finn Allen (20) took Nevis Patriots within touching distance when Allen left. Soon Cottrel was dismissed and they needed around 10 in the final over.

With Naseem Shah at the other end, Drakes managed to get the target down to 5 runs in the last 2 balls of Kesrick Williams who was bowling well. The 5th ball was slammed through the covers for 4 by Drakes and they scampered a tight single off the last ball and won leading to total mayhem amongst the players and the spectators.
