Manan Sharma former under 19 & KKR cricketer quits Indian cricket
In recent times we are observing a strong trend of past under 19 Indian cricketers. Quitting cricket in India and moving to other countries to pursue the game. In the past couple of years, we had players like Sunny Sohal, Timil Patel, Saurabh Netravalkar, Smit Patel, Siddharth Trivedi and Unmukt Chand. Retiring from Indian cricket and moving to USA to pursue cricket there.
Unmukt Chand has been a famous name in under 19 cricket and Delhi, who retired last week. Siddharth Trivedi is a known name in Rajasthan Royal circles. Having played for them for several years in the early stages of IPL. Saurabh Netravalkar, Smit Patel are well-known names too. Manan Sharma former under 19 & KKR cricketer quits Indian cricket.
He is the son of former Indian cricketer Ajay Sharma of Delhi. Manan is a left-handed batter and left-arm spinner. He has announced his retirement from Indian cricket and will now settle in California to pursue cricket in United States.
Manan Sharma was in the KKR squad in 2016 IPL but did not play any matches. He played for Delhi in Ranji Trophy and shared the dressing room with Ishant Sharma, Gautam Gambhir , Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant .
Manan was a part of the Indian U-19 team at the 2010 U-19 World Cup which included Mandeep Singh, KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Sandeep Sharma, and even the current captain of the United States men’s cricket team, Saurabh Netravalkar.
Manan took 4 wickets and scored 52 runs in 5 under 19 matches. He scored 1208 first-class runs in 35 games. In 26 T20 games he took 32 wickets and hit 131 runs.
