Kusal Parera back, Chandimal included as Sri Lanka announce T20I World cup squad
Sri Lanka has announced their World cup T20I squad in the middle of the South Africa T20I series. Ace batsman Kusal Parera returns to the team to bolster the batting line up. Which is further strengthened by the return of experienced senior batter Dinesh Chandimal. Who has performed well in the 1st T20I vs South Africa scoring a fighting 66, full of impressive shots.
Datsun Shanaka is going to lead the team which has a strong spin arsenal led by Wahnindu Hasaranga. 21-year-old mystery spinner Theekshana, who took four wickets on his one-day international debut against South Africa last week, is joined by left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama, the only uncapped player in the squad. Akila Danajaya who had taken a hattrick in the West Indies is a surprise omission in the squad . However he is added in the travelling reserves .
Dushmanta Chameera will lead the pace attack which also includes Nuwan Pradeep .
