England made a good comeback on the 4th day of the Oval test just before lunch picking up 3 quick wickets of Jadeja, Rahane and Kohli after India appeared to have safely negotiated the first hour.

Starting at 270/3, India lost Jadeja and Rahane both lbw to Woakes but the real blow came when Moeen Ali got the edge off Virat Kohli’s bat after Kohli made a forward lunge and the catch was smartly snapped up by Craig Overton at the lone slip position.

Overnight 22 notout , Kohli enjoyed the best batting conditions of the series and played some gorgeous shots including some sumptuous cover drives and straight drives. With the England seam bowlers unable to get much swing, Kohli was taking full toll till his unexpected dismissal for 44 runs.

Kohli looked gutted as he returned to the pavilion and must have been thinking that he missed a great chance to get a 100. It’s nearly 2 years now that he is without a 100 in international cricket across formats. His last 100 came in the pink ball test vs Bangladesh in November 2019 at Kolkata.

As Kohli entered the dressing room, the cameras followed him and he was seen punching the dressing room wall in frustration.

Soon the videos of that action got viral on social media like wild fire and Kohli’s fans vented their disappointments on missing a hundred
