Jofra Archer to miss cricket for rest of 2021
England’s quickest bowler Jofra Archer is set to miss all forms of cricket including the India V England tests. T20I World Cup and the Ashes for the remainder of 2021. Archer who left the India tour in early 2021 & missed IPL due to an elbow injury. He subsequently had to remove bone fragments in his elbow through surgery.
After returning to bowling for his county team Sussex, he felt increasing discomfort and was sent for scans which revealed a stress fracture which is a recurrence of the injury he suffered in the 2020 South Africa tour.
As a result, he will be under treatment and will miss the entire cricket for the remainder of 2021. Which is a crushing blow to England’s hopes in the Ashes. It also has now raised a question mark on the remainder of Archer’s fledging career. Which has held enough promise in 13 tests 17 ODIs and 12 T20Is.
It remains to be seen how Archer approaches international cricket after he comes back from injury. Whether he is able to rediscover that searing pace that made him into a such a potent weapon for England.
